Araújo, Buenavida, Carrera, and Fam bring Spain back to the World Cup

Valencia Basket was represented by six players on their national teams during the FIBA window that concluded last night. The biggest cause for celebration came from María Araújo, Elena Buenavida, Raquel Carrera, and Awa Fam, who secured their spot in the World Cup on the third game of the qualifying tournament. Spain will return to the World Cup this September, eight years after its last appearance. Leo Fiebich’s Germany, already qualified as the host nation, finished in second place in its group to great acclaim. Khaalia Hillsman also played a key role for Bulgaria, helping her national team advance to the second round of qualifying for the 2027 EuroBasket Women.
